Our Story
It all started in New York many years ago. A family of entrepreneurs understood how important storage was for cities mobility and the wellbeing of communities. After a few years, deep analysis and a lot of visits in the major cities of the world such as London and New York, we decided to open our first facility in Lisbon.
Our goal is to create state of the art, environmentally friendly Self Storage facilities with digitalization and 100% automation giving clients a secure storage with 24/7 access in urban areas.
The new facility in Alcantara, is the first Smart Access and Environmentally friendly facility in Portugal. The site allows for clients to access via an app with energy consumption coming from LED lights and Solar Panels while planting a tree for each rented unit to reduce the planet carbon footprint.

Sustainability
Solar
Most of our facilities will be outfitted with solar panels laid out in the roof of each building. Our solar energy generating systems are designed to generate enough energy to the facility with additional energy feeding back to the public grid.
Sustainable materials & construction
We reconvert our sites with sustainability in mind. LED, motion sensing lighting & intelligent automation are many sustainable construction initiatives we take to create the most efficient self-storage facilities.
Planting a Tree
We do our best to plant as many trees, bushes and flowers as we can at all our locations. For every storage unit Control Space aims to plant one live tree.
EV Charging
For all our electric/hybrid driving storage tenants, we will offer free charging of your vehicle while popping into the office to make payment, purchase moving supplies or just access your unit
Breeam Certificate
We aim to be the first self-storage facility in Portugal to have Breeam Certificate. The cerficate is a independent recognition of our sustainability commitment.
Supporting local communities
Control Space is committed to help the local communities in which we operate.
Our team supports local NGO’s and charities by giving them free storage space. In addition our team members have to do 1 day per year in which they have to allocate to help an NGO of their choice.
Finally, by having the ability to generate Solar Energy in our rooftops, we will be providing green electricity and generating savings to our neighbour’s.
