If you prefer to keep everything at home, make sure you manage your space wisely. Adapt the area to fit all your shoes, and follow proper storage practices. For example, you shouldn’t stack shoes on top of each other. That traps moisture in the most used areas and encourages unwanted fungi. Also, contact between soles and the top parts of other shoes can damage both the appearance and cleanliness of your pairs.

Avoid putting shoes away right after wearing them. As soon as you take them off, it’s best to leave them in a well ventilated spot so sweat and moisture can evaporate. If possible, avoid direct sunlight.

Ideally, have multipurpose cabinets at home. Vertical units with shelves and dividers make cleaning and organising much easier. To save space, go for cabinets with sliding doors that can also hold a mirror, solving two needs at once. The taller, the better.
